Sami Välimäki

Valimaki joins TeamTaylorMade after securing his European Tour card at Qualifying School Final Stage to earn his rookie season on tour. Sami was in the top 10 of the World Amateur Golf Rankings in 2018 and, having taken part in military service in Finland at the end of last year, turned professional in January 2019.

Sami recorded his first professional victory at the Open Casa Green Golf on the Pro Golf Tour in Morocco and went on to record three more victories, finishing second on the Order of Merit. He made his European Tour debut at the KLM Open in 2019 and finished tied seventh at the 2020 ISPS Handa Vic Open before going on to capture the Oman Open title in just his sixth start on the European Tour. Following his maiden victory, Sami currently sits 13th in the season long Race to Dubai rankings.

“Sami has always stood out as an amateur talent and has since continued to show fantastic promise in the professional ranks. Sami is a very skilled player who compresses the ball extremely well, but perhaps his biggest skill is that he knows how to win and even thrives on being in contention, shown by his maiden European Tour victory in Oman. We are thrilled for Sami and look forward to continue working with him now as a full European Tour Member, with his obvious talent and the equipment and expertise we can now offer Sami on a more regular basis, I am excited to watch him continue to mature and impress as a professional player.”
