Last week, Tiger Woods took home PGA TOUR win No. 80 and $1.62M for his victory at the TOUR Championship. On the same day, Justin Rose added the FedExCup to his trophy case and a whopping $10M to his bank account.

This week, the only thing on the line is pride.

The Ryder Cup is finally here, and the 8 qualified players and 4 captain’s picks from Team Europe and Team USA are set to tee off at Le Golf National in Paris for the most coveted match play event in golf.

With 24 players in the field at the Ryder Cup, 6 are among TaylorMade’s top Tour athletes. Additionally, there will be a total of 9 TaylorMade drivers in play between staffers and non-staffers. Below, you’ll find breakdowns of each TaylorMade athlete representing their team in Paris with their Ryder Cup records and a list of what's in their bags as they battle in the 2018 Ryder Cup.

Although Justin Rose fell back from his World No. 1 ranking after the TOUR Championship, his confidence will still be high at the Ryder Cup after securing the FedExCup and a $10M paycheck.

What bodes even better for Justin is his immaculate Ryder Cup record. Heading into his 5th Ryder Cup, he has a winning record in all three formats. Additionally, he has perhaps had the most consistent—and successful—season of any Ryder Cup competitor. With the combination of his 2018 performance and historic Ryder Cup success, he has been chosen to lead the charge in Friday’s Fourball match, kicking off the Ryder Cup alongside Jon Rahm in the first tee time of the day.

Entering his first-ever Ryder Cup experience, Jon Rahm will be thrown right into the fire to begin competition at Le Golf National. As mentioned above, he will be paired with Ryder Cup veteran Justin Rose in the opening fourball match.

Despite being his first Ryder Cup, Rahm is no rookie when it comes to match play events. Most notably, Rahm took DJ to the final hole of the 2017 WGC-Dell Match Play event. We know Rahm has the fiery persona and competitive drive to be an electric presence at the Ryder Cup—especially in front of a home crowd. The intense nature of Rahm paired with the focused, calculated composure of Rose sets up to be one of the more compelling groups for Friday’s Fourball matches.

Entering his 5th consecutive Ryder Cup appearance, we know there are few players in the world who can energize a crowd like Rory McIlroy. In 2016, he was part of one of the most legendary matches in Ryder Cup history—one that has continually appeared on highlight reels and round replays over the past two years. And although Rory came up short in that match, there is little doubt that he his chomping at the bit to redeem himself at Le Golf National. In front of a home crowd, we will undoubtedly #HearTheRors in France.

Like Rose, Rory also has a winning Ryder Cup record in all three formats. His passion for the game and competitive drive come out in full display on this world stage, and he hopes to be the catalyst for winning the cup back for Team Europe.

PAUL CASEY

This year, Paul Casey returns for his first Ryder Cup appearance since 2008. Eager to get back into the fold, he’s going to be added right into the mix, as he’s paired in Friday’s penultimate Fourball matchup.

With M4 driver in his bag, Casey picked up a win earlier this year at the Valspar Championship. He also went on to advance to the TOUR Championship where he finished in a tie for 11th. Advancing to the final 30 players of the FedExCup is no easy task and shows that Casey’s game is in a good spot as he makes his return to the Ryder Cup.

TEAM USA

TIGER WOODS

This week, Tiger is in France for his 8th Ryder Cup appearance (his first since 2012). Shockingly, of Tiger’s 7 prior appearances, Team USA has only one Ryder Cup victory. This year, Tiger hopes to help his team retain the cup and bring it back home to the United States.

At last week’s compelling TOUR Championship win, Tiger led the field in several important stat categories—most notably striping it all week with his M3 driver—and showed that his game is in prime form for the Ryder Cup. Tiger’s game—and his confidence—are riding high, and he threatens to be a daunting challenge for anyone facing him at Le Golf National. And for Friday’s opening Fourball format, Team USA has elected to send Tiger off in the final pairing to anchor his team.

DUSTIN JOHNSON

The newly re-crowned World No. 1 is in France for his 4th Ryder Cup appearance. Last week, DJ finished in solo 3rd at the TOUR Championship after posting back-to-back rounds of 67 to close out the weekend—entering the Ryder Cup in strong form.

Now, the man who is known for overpowering courses with his M4 driver and stuffing it close with his MG wedges is set to see off against fellow TaylorMade Staffer (and long-ball hitter) Rory McIlroy in Friday’s Fourball matchup. Fireworks will on display by these two powerful athletes battle, and it will be intriguing to witness how their partners will either feed off that power or take a more targeted approach to post the lowest “best ball” score on each hole.
